Explore our TechKits
Innovate Labs offers hands-on and virtual learning experiences designed to help students build practical technology skills that translate directly to career readiness.
Our updated TechKit model includes 10 Hands-On Lab Kits and 10 Virtual Skill Kits, each centered on a high-impact area of emerging technology. Every kit contains two focused tracks that allow students to develop specific, transferable skillsets within that domain.
Rather than organizing around specific software tools, TechKits are built around core technology concepts and applied competencies — ensuring the skills students develop remain relevant across industries and career paths.
How Techkits Work
Students can start at any level based on their experience and comfort. Whether exploring a technology for the first time or expanding an existing skillset, TechKits are designed to meet learners where they are and help them progress intentionally.
Each experience is self-guided and typically completed within 30–60 minutes, allowing students to build skills flexibly and at their own pace.
Beginner
Designed for students who may not have prior exposure to the technology and want to explore the fundamentals. These kits introduce key concepts, terminology, and core applications in an accessible, guided format.
Intermediate
Builds on foundational knowledge through structured challenges and applied problem-solving. Students deepen their understanding and begin connecting concepts to real-world use cases.
Advanced
An integrated project within the Tech Block that brings together the skills developed in the intermediate-level kits. These experiences simulate more complex, real-world applications and require students to apply multiple competencies together.
Learning Activities
Each of the seven learning blocks focuses on three related technologies. Each Tech Kit focuses on a different technology and is broken down into three different tiers all meant to be completed within 30 – 60 minutes.
Beginner is meant for an user who knows nothing about a technology but wants to start learning. Intermediate assumes some base knowledge about the technology and provides less direction. Advanced is open ended and gives the user a more complicated task to perform. Check out each technology page to get a description of each level of tech kit.
Virtual Kits
These kits can be done in the lab with our laptops or in the comfort of your home but may require you to download software.
