The Month of Discovery invites students to engage with a variety of UConn programs at any number of exciting events. October will connect students to the opportunities they seek in enrichment, research, innovation, and creativity at events designed to offer the most impactful and informative experiences.
This challenge aims to motivate students to discover all UConn has to offer in the fields of research, innovation, and creativity during the Month of Discovery. After you register as a participant, all you have to do to earn Discovery Points is attend any of our signature or partner events and use your Discovery Quest redeem code. This code can be entered into the Discovery Quest Husky Ct, which will track all your points throughout the month. Earn points and reach 90 to unlock the Future Innovator Achievement!
How It Works
Join us at the kickoff event for the Month of Discovery and the first signature event of Discovery Quest. Bounce between UConn's makerspaces - Innovate Labs, Innovation Zone, The UConn Library Maker Studio, through a scavenger hunt like no other, jumpstart your creativity, bounce some ideas around, and get making!
Get Started
Start your bounce at any of the Makerspaces or the registration table located on the SU Mall.
- Participants will receive a passport that will be used to keep track of the Makerspaces you have visited.
- This scavenger hunt can be completed at any point during the 4 hour event window.
- A minimum of one Makerspace stamp is required to gain entrance to the carnival.
Get Making
At each Makerspace you will complete a 5 - 10 minute activity and you will receive a stamp for that location. This year's activities include:
- Innovate Lab - 3D Print Pens / VR
- Innovation Zone - Personalized Tote Bags
- Library Maker Studio - Kindness Rocks
Each station will have a free giveaway item you can make or take home!
Get Bouncing
Students are encouraged to visit all three Makerspaces and take part in the activities!
- Makerspace activities are designed to help students build new skills, explore creative tools, and leave with something to keep.
- Bounce between various inflatables such as obstacle courses, slides and more. Enjoy other carnival activities such as yard games!
